Samurai Vader WIP
A fun idea I'm painting out... to make Darth Vader in the samurai world... since the jedi are basically space samurai already!

Work in progress!! The original drawing is from an artist named Sam Nielson (http://artsammich.blogspot.com)! It's for one of his schoolism classes, and having a good drawing to start with is an awesome way to just focus on painting! I like where this one's going!... I'm hoping to put colour in the end : D

Bioshock: The Beginning of Rapture (working title)
I thought it'd be fun to play around with writing a screenplay for a movie depicting the life of Andrew Ryan before he creates Rapture. It'd be like a prologue to the story of the first Bioshock game. I have a fun idea involving flashbacks/nonlinear storyline. I might continue. Could be fun! Here's a taste!
EXT. ATLANTIC OCEAN – NIGHT – ESTABLISHING
A boat travels across the vast ocean top as the moon is reflected in the dark waters.
EXT. BOAT – NIGHT
An American flag attached to the deck is blowing in the wind, the captain is seen steering the boat in the helm, and a shadowy figure is standing at the bow looking off into the horizon with their overcoat blowing in the wind.
The figure raises its hand, and the captain slows the boat down to a halt.
FIGURE
Here.
The captain steps out of the helm, and looks around at the empty sea.
CAPTAIN
Here, sir? It’s about a mile dive till you reach the ocean floor in these waters And we must be more then 400 kilometers off the coast of Iceland.
FIGURE
This will do fine. Put up our signal light and radio in the rest of the team. We begin construction tonight.
CAPTAIN
Yes sir, Mr. Andrew Ryan.
The Captain climbs back into the helm and talks on the radio in the background, while the man in the overcoat stays at the bow looking down into the deep, black waters. His face is revealed by a signal light from the light beacon of the boat.

New Approach

so i took a new wack at digital painting. i was following a tutorial from imagineFX latest issue, and it was a lot of fun!
I've been trying to get that painterly feel, instead of my usual smooth look, and I feel like I got closer to my goal with this piece. I'm looking forward to trying this process out some more! Also I plan on painting on larger canvases. Trying to work small is a nightmare!
Stay Tuned!
